David Naupari, M.S.
David Naupari is the founder of Improve Sport Performance LLC. He currently works as a Mental Performance Consultant while in pursuit of his CMPC (Certified Mental Performance Consultant) certification through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).
David’s involvement in sport began at a young age, being part of a local soccer team and later playing handball recreationally throughout NYC. It was not until high school that David found and fell in love with the sport of wrestling. He competed throughout his high school and college career and later had the opportunity to coach at the collegiate level. He currently continues to coach wrestling at a local NYC gym.
David’s personal experience, being around athletes of all levels, gave him insight into the importance of the mental side of sport. He realized the psychological aspects of sport are often overlooked in personal and team development. Looking to improve personally and help athletes work through struggles that went unaddressed during David’s athletic career, David immersed himself in the sport psychology field.
David received his master’s degree in Sport Science with a focus on Sport Psychology from Lock Haven University. Since then, he has piloted a mental performance program at a NCAA DIII college, working with coaches and athletes from a multitude of sports that include wrestling, basketball, and softball. He currently works privately in the NYC/Long Island area assisting athletes with enhancing their mental skills using research-based methods.
